Electric Daisy Carnival, Vol. 1 (Mixed By Kaskade), released June 22nd, 2010 Ultra Records
I am starting off the reviews with one of my favorite Electronic Music Compilations, "Electric Daisy Carnival, Vol. 1 (Mixed by Kaskade). I know that the dubstep movement is growing large by the millisecond, but there is more to Electronic Music than just dubstep. This is a great House music compilation with such great artists as Armin Van Buuren, Tiësto, Wolfgang Gartner, deadmau5, the Swedish House Mafia, and of course Kaskade. This is a great album to put on while laying in bed, the sound of every song is very relaxing. The track listing is in a perfect order and is wonderfully put together. Sometimes with certain compilation albums the songs are not in an order that you would want to listen to them in for that perfect sound, but this is not one of them. Each track gives you a very hypnotic, relaxing house music sound, and listening to it more than once is highly advised. Once you listen to it all the way through, you will no doubt want to keep coming back to it. Not to mention that the songs are very well mixed, sometimes that can be a problem with Electronic albums, but this is perfectly put together. I have to give major Kudos to Kaskade for mixing an album of such fine quality as this. Along with any other album certain tracks stand out more than others such as 2. Armin Van Buuren feat. Jacqueline Govaert- Never Say Never (Alex Guadino Remix), 5.Tiësto- Louder than Boom (Bart B More Mix), 10. Wolfgang Gartner- Undertaker, and finally 11. deadmau5- Some Chords. Overall I give this compilation a 8.5 out of 10, and highly recommend it to beginners in the Electronic Music genre.
The Music Review
Music is my LIFE, and I have decided to post reviews of any album, from any decade and any genre. I don't pass any judgement on any genre or artist in the music industry. If it sounds good, I will listen to it, I'm not one of those snobby music elitists who turns their nose up to certain artists just because they don't fit their persona. I love music, and I love it all. I own over 40,000 CD's and they are all different, and each one has a meaning to me. I don't care if it's rock, pop, jazz, metal, hip hop, techno, top 40, emo, screamo, or what ever other fancy genre you can come up with, it's all about if it sounds good to me, not your fancy musical genre name and if it fits my personal fashion. So if you want an honest, unbiased opinion on absolutely any form of music there is, you have come to the right place. My first review post will be coming soon, so I hope you will enjoy what I have to offer.
